EquipmentShare Changes the Lives of Homeowners

When homeowner Robert Jones requested a wheelchair ramp for his home, he had no idea what Rebuilding Together had in store for him. Over 20 volunteers from EquipmentShare converged on his home and gave him so much more! During their Corporate Rebuild Day, volunteers not only built a ramp, they also painted, built a fence, landscaped, and replaced posts on a carport.

“I didn’t know that I could really get help done for me. I was so used to doing everything myself,” said Robert. “I couldn’t believe that somebody would do that for me, and I am very appreciative of it.”

Rebuilding Together Kansas City is grateful to EquipmentShare and its volunteers for making such a difference!

Homes By Chris Raises $115K for Rebuilding Together Kansas City

Kansas City, MO (May 23, 2023) – Rebuilding Together Kansas City have always shared a common vision in providing happy, healthy homes to metro Kansas City inhabitants. While Homes By Chris crafts beautiful homes around the northland for various clients, Rebuilding Together helps transform the homes and lives of low-income families, seniors, people living with disabilities and veterans; rehabbing their living quarters or providing key accessibility and safety features.

Homes by Chris owners Roy & Chris Ragland’s passion for building quality homes led them to begin supporting Rebuilding Together more than 12 years ago. Both Roy and Chris have combined to serve 9 years on the board as well as dedicating many hours of labor and planning to the local nonprofit.

With the help of their suppliers and contractors, Homes By Chris have contributed a donation of $115,000 to Rebuilding Together Kansas City. These funds will go to projects to construct grab bars, tub cut-outs, ramps, handrails, decking, and much more.

“I’m elated to announce our partnership with Rebuilding Together”, HBC President Chris Ragland offered, “Rebuilding Together Kansas City is aligned to an amazing cause. Their work keeping community members housed and healthy is what attracted Homes By Chris to partner with their incredible organization… and why 97% of our suppliers and contractors contributed to this collaborative, community endeavor.”

Rebuilding Together Kansas City Gains New Director

LIBERTY — For 22 years, Rebuilding Together Kansas City has helped hundreds of individuals and families in need make their homes safer.

Clay McQuerry brought the Rebuilding Together concept to the Northland from Texas, and by 2002, the first eight houses were worked on during the first Rebuilding Day.

McQuerry retired and has turned the helm over to Executive Director Scott Hickox. Hickox knew of the nonprofit when he served as pastor of Liberty Christian Fellowship.

“I believe that I want to spend the last part of my career giving back to the community,” he said. “My faith drives what I do, and I love to help people. Giving back has the most satisfaction.”
